Paying it forward with Pear Tree Greetings

by Miranda on December 8, 2012

I love Christmas cards. Sending and receiving them. Know why?

They aren’t bills.

There’s something magical about going to your mailbox and finding pretty colored, hand-addressed envelopes that don’t say “Presorted First Class Postage Paid” in the upper corner, don’t you think?

But thanks to my our single-income status, I thought Christmas cards were going to be cut this year. And I don’t just mean cutting back. I mean completely. No cards.

Then I saw a giveaway to Pear Tree Greetings from IROCKSOWHAT in my Instagram feed and entered. What could it hurt?

Well, I won that giveaway. And I cried. Multiple times. For the rest of the afternoon. I would tear up whenever I thought about how the Universe works sometimes.

I really, really love sending Christmas cards, guys. Really. I still get tears in my throat when I think about how I can send cards now. Cards in the mail say that, even if it’s only for the amount of time it took to address the card, someone was thinking of you. Someone thinks enough of you to send you a card and wish you well. That’s kind of huge in our world of instant gratification and communication, y’all.

I’ve been a little bogged down by life lately and I got the email from Pear Tree telling me I was the winner and to go pick out some cards at just the right time to perk me up.

I set off to design cards using the family pictures I took a few weeks ago and found that I had my work cut out for me. There were so many cards to choose from and I wanted to make my credit go as far as I could.

These are but a small sample of the cards I created.

Pear Tree Greetings Holiday cards

  1. Horizontal Photo Card
  2. Bold Holiday Lettering in Blue
  3. Geometric Fun
  4. Festive Two Photo Banner
  5. Ribbon Swirls

Making up my mind was nearly impossible. But I finally did. Last night. And the awesome thing is that standard shipping is only 8 days, which leaves me plenty of time to get my cards sent before Christmas (provided my children cooperate with me).

What’s more awesome is that when I told Pear Tree that I was crying happy tears and would be telling y’all, they threw in a $25 credit to one of my readers as a way to pay it forward.

And I’m crying again thinking about it.

This is going to be a flash giveaway–25 hours for $25 dollars.

Holiday cards, stationery, address labels, part of a personalized story book. Whatever you want. It’s your credit.

We’re going to do this old-school way instead of with a Rafflecopter.

Here are the ways you can enter:

  • MANDATORY: Visit Pear Tree Greetings and then leave a comment telling me what you’ll get if you win the $25 credit.
  • OPTIONAL: Like Pear Tree Greetings on Facebook. (Leave a separate comment letting me know you’ve liked.)
  • OPTIONAL: Follow Pear Tree Greetings on Twitter. (Leave a separate comment letting me know you’ve followed.)
  • OPTIONAL: Like Not Super…Just Mom on Facebook. (Leave a separate comment letting me know you’ve liked.)
  • OPTIONAL: Follow me on Twitter. (Leave a separate comment letting me know you’ve followed.)
  • OPTIONAL: Tweet about the giveaway and leave a comment with the URL to your tweet. (Click on the tweet’s timestamp for the URL!)
    25 hours for $25! Win a credit to @peartreegreet from @notsuperjustmom! http://notsuperjustmom.com/?p=2734

I’ll choose a winner tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 p.m. EST and the winner will have 24 hours to respond and claim the credit.

Please be sure to check out Pear Tree Greetings’ current promotions which are good for all items on the site (and there are some great gift ideas there!) and learn about their Share the Pear program which donates to Caring Bridge, a community helping families during times of health-related crisis.

Happy Holidays, y’all.

WINNER WINNER:

Disclaimer: Pear Tree didn’t pay me for this or ask me to do write about or even share that I’d won a credit to their store. But I couldn’t NOT share because I was too happy. They offered up the credit to a NSJM reader to pay it forward and I was happy to run the giveaway.

So this will totally be going towards our birth announcement cards :)

I love the card selection. We have a lot of family that doesn’t do Christmas, so we always look for more generic “holiday” cards. The Radiant Christmas Stars card is perfect for that – very elegant. I’d choose those.

I would get kids invitations for my baby girl whom turns ten next month. She wants to have a sleep over/party with a space theme. Could be because she is now in love with the series Doctor Who..
